The annual stats are in. Top FlutterFlow Developer for 2023…

Want to see what imposter syndrome looks like? I ended up with 360 days of 365 possible days active in FlutterFlow this year. Almost a million edits made.. and yet, I still feel like I know nothing compared to what there IS to know. (Hey FF, I’d love to know the actual total time in-app as part of the roundup!)

Pointless feelings of imposter syndrome aside, I still feel comfortable and confident in FlutterFlow and what it brings to the table. In 20+ years of being a developer, it’s the best tool I’ve come across for time efficiency, and that’s really the name of the game. It’s been a remarkable asset to produce way faster with and if you’re not afraid of custom code, there are no firm walls.

If you’re one of those guys that believes “raw code / from scratch only!”, why? To me, that’s an ego problem. A need to prioritize your desire to be seen as an amazing ‘purist’ developer vs the client or project needs. If your goal is to deliver the best product for the client in the fastest time possible, use the tools that help that. Prioritize the project needs and suddenly, FlutterFlow makes perfect sense.

Time is the most expensive currency in the world, and actively wasting it for the sake of this faux-goal of “perfect code” is nonsensical. In practicality, all code gets refactored within a 2-3 year window, so build for NOW, build to solve the problem quickly, and iterate improvements from there. You can produce at double or triple the speed with the right tools, and that’s as close to super powers as we can get.
